Fight Response
You are a creature of fangs and claws,
Sharpness and violence and a gaping maw,
There’s no part of you that has not,
Destroyed all the softness that you’ve forgot.
You were so small and so hurt and so tired,
No surprise, given everything that had transpired,
So all in all, it’s understood,
You’d give up on kindness and the will to be good.
You know you’re not a victim -- not a proper one,
‘Cause victims don’t lash out, they hurt and run,
They sit there so meekly, don’t say a word,
‘Cause those who get angry just can’t get hurt.
You’re mean, you’re a monster, abusive in turn,
Ignoring the fact it’s their actions you return,
Say “violence’s not the answer,” and we both know they’re lying!
‘Cause when they get angry, it’s that advice they’re denying.
You’re a monster, a beast, rotten to the core,
Fangs, and claws, and a gaping maw,
“You take after them,” – and you can’t say it’s wrong,
Because among the good ones, you don’t belong.
